Avenue South  |  Gathering Room

We want our church to be a source of support and encouragement as you pursue marriage.  In the Bible, we discover a framework of truth for us to understand all our experiences, and that includes dating, marriage and even starting a family.  The Bible’s teaching on these topics is rich, timely, and helpful.  That’s why we offer a four-week course about these topics that’s called Building Blocks for Marriage.

  1. This is a FREE pre-marriage seminar that is offered approximately once every 3 months.  It takes place on 4 consecutive Tuesday nights from 5:45-7:15pm.
  2. Topics will include: The reason for marriage, family of origin issues, finances, sexuality, communication, and conflict resolution.
  3. Each couple who attends the seminar will receive information and helpful resources for any specific needs you might have. You’ll also receive contact information for ministers, small group leaders, and marriage counselors & therapists that are available to you.

We’ve found that the best way to maximize the Building Blocks for Marriage course is to participate by taking notes and discussing the material together as a couple after each session. At the conclusion of the course you will receive a notarized certificate of completion that gives you a discount on the cost of your marriage license.

This session is now full.  The next session will be offered in August at the Brentwood campus.  If you have questions, please contact Debbie Jacobs.
