Homegrown, Kayla Semeraro is a native to the rolling hills of middle Tennessee. She attended Ravenwood High School and ventured to Knoxville at the University of Tennessee upon graduation. Kayla graduated with her BS degree and a major in Recreation and Sport Management and minor in Business Administration. Her passion and skillset lie in the sweet spot of the overlap between administrative tasks and empowering others to be excellent in their domain. She is incredibly grateful and honored to work with the Avenue South team.
Kayla is married to her middle school crush turned high school sweetheart, Ben. They live in Spring Hill with their black lab named, Shiloh. On any given night, they can be found running with Shiloh, playing soccer, basketball, or flag football, supporting Ravenwood, the Vols, and the Titans, or eating Mexican/Italian food. They dream of having a large family of their own, coaching, utilizing their home as an in-between place for people in need, and seeing the Vols beat Nick Saban.
Kayla does not recall a time not knowing about the Lord, but her understanding of her need for a Savior was a reality unlike before while in college. Jesus’s role as Lord and Savior took root and started growing as a result of invested teachers and mentors. God’s sovereignty and being a part of His grander story became her identity. The two verses she leans on are Colossians 1:17, “He is before all things, and in Him, all things hold together,” and John 15:5, “I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.”
